My deadbolt only locks if I lift the door. Is the lock broken?
Probably not. That is the classic sign the door has dropped on its hinges or the frame has shifted, so the bolt is hitting the strike plate instead of entering it. In Georgiana we see this constantly, and the fix is usually hinge and strike work rather than new hardware.
Should I use a single or double cylinder deadbolt?
